Strip: stripping across the sheer line

Hi all,

I am an avid new strip-builder, in the midst of a Guillemot based on Nick's excellent book (and bit of help from this forum). My forms are all aligned on the strongback and ready to be fixed in place, and I am currently sifting through a pile of deck design sketches, trying to pick the prettiest. Some of the best ones I've come up with would require either a two-tone, scarfed sheer strip on the hull (not desirable due to weakness of strip, esp. since I have loads of full-length WRC strips available), or nice long strips crossing from the deck to the hull. Obviously I could opt for a simpler design (should, given it's my first boat?), but can anyone out there provide advice on the best way to handle these across-the-sheer designs?

Thanks!
