Here is a kayak I finished this spring . It is 13'9" X 21.5". http://photomail.photoworks.com/sharing/roll.asp?Key=1~FQQ4aBru.cJHNq541qSWQQtgw2px/NX6oLsru3qWiNvo7q4sXGQdt3nARSNVbaqJ

It is mostly yellow cedar with a pegged and lashed frame. The finished boat weighs about 24 lbs. Lightweight was achieved by making the gunnels rather small 9/16" X 1 1/4" . They are plenty strong. Chines and keelson are red cedar. The rear deck is flat to make entry and exit easier. The cockpit opening is about 27" long . The hoop is floating and now has a lip on it. A fun kayak easy to pick up.

Skin is 9 oz poly from Dyson . Coating is clear acrylic roof coating from Black Knight looks and handles just like Flecto water based varathane but is quite a bit cheaper.
