Skin-on-Frame: Greenland kayak building: How easy is it?

Hi folks, I'm new to the board here and I've been sifting through various posts regarding the construction of SOF kayaks. My questions is: are they really as easy to build as they seem to be? I am a crafter of primitive/traditional archery tackle, so I have a fair amount of experience with woodworking. I just this evening past ordered the books by Morris, and Cunningham. Is there enough clear information in those two books to enable me to build a quality boat first time out? I'm sure all the answers to these questions are buried in the archives here, but to save me hours of digging I thought it best to ask directly. Thanks in advance.
