Material: making a kevlar canoe

Has anyone used an existing canoe to lay up (with epoxy and f/g) another one? I have been thinking to use my stripper as a mold to make a kevlar/carbon hull. I intend to use only up to the start of the tumblehome, full ends and then deck it to make a decked sailing canoe like the old Rob Roys.

My main concern is whether the release wax will adequately protect my wood strip canoe and also if I will be able to get the wax off when I am done. I wouldn't want to ruin my existing canoe.

I have also thought about covering it with lightweight plastic as a release/barrier but that way would probably introduce wrinkles on the inside that would require additional epoxy to smooth out.

Has anyone had experience in F/G molding?
