Yo Rob

A tricky one. I wanted to put a couple of simple guillemots on ricepaper on the deck of my second guillemot s&g. But in a cunning plan to keep things light and bright (and a lack of glass cloth) I didn't glass the deck.

So I am going to just sand then paint them on in bright red paint and varnish over ... that is the plan anyway. However, my guillemots will be simple and I am guessing your artwork is more intricate.

I have photocopied a skull and cross bones onto plain printer paper and epoxied that to the bulkhead of guillemot s&g #1. It is there and sound, but was not my best ever work and mostly unsatisfactory.

I haven't tried the epoxy only rice paper thing. My only suggestion is to do a test piece and work from there. Otherwise, I am guessing brush on epoxy first, lay the ricepaper art work and very carefully wet it out. It might help if you lay something like mylar over it afterwards to help press the rice paper motive down. Then go over it with the next weave filling coat.

Good luck Pete
