In Response To: Did it work?... (srchr/gerald)
I am happy. It's plenty tough, no royalex, but OK for a stripper. No problems. As far as doing it differently if I had done it from the start (when I first built the canoe) I could have used a slightly weaker mix on the weave fill coat and then heavier on the final coats and probably could have saved a pound or so on weight. As it is the modification added 6 lbs to my canoe.
