Hi all,

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I now realize the purpose of the graphite is to lubricate, and its the the silica that hardens the epoxy. Now I am not sure I want a greasy black film rubbing off of my kayak.

Has anyone ever considered putting some rock tumbling fine grit in epoxy to make a hard abrasion resistant coating? The stuff seems to be pretty inexpensive. If a fine enough grit is chosen I would think the surface would still be glossy smooth.
