This was announced on the Greenland Forum, but I did not see it here. On Wednesday, 15 October, the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough, Ontario closed its doors to the public. With it goes one of the best collections of strip, bark, dugout and traditional skin boats in the world. The future of the museum and the various collections is uncertain at this time.

By a weird coincidence, I was up there on Monday with my camera and managed to photograph the entire skin boat collection. I have set up a site with most of the 150 or so photos I managed to get. I should have the final boats entered by tonight.
