It's not born yet, but at least it has a heartbeat. This project is approaching the gestation period of a whale I think. The photo was taken this morning just after the first fill coat, so there's lots more work to do. It's darn hard to get a decent shot what with the high gloss and the crampted work space, so I offer up just a detail shot for now.

I have always been enamored with the wily raven, even though he steals my lunch when I'm not looking. Rather than follow native designs, I came up with my own interpretation. This photo looks a little busy, but it's a small part of the whole boat which in total looks much cleaner. The different woods are light WRC, dark WRC, AYC pinstripes, Peruvian Walnut, and abalone for the eyes. The glass is the tough-as-nails but very hard to work with 6 oz. satin s-2 glass. Most of it came out OK. Once the dings start accumulating, no one will notice anything but the beautiful thing it is.
