: I have just cut the hatches on my Spring Run and need to give some thought as
: to how I want to secure the hatches. Looking for some personal web pages
: showing details. Methods that seem most interesting are the inside straps
: (I can't really figure this out), magnets (how best to cleanly bury the
: steel in the cloth) and I'm still considering external straps.
: If there are some good pages out there with lot's of photos on this subjet
: please pass on the links.
I tried the Liedy 's and found them hard to use and went with a magnetic kitchen cabinet latch on one side and a wood hook on the other. They use a magnet to release the catch. I went threw a lipped 6' wave that cleaned off EVERYTHING off the deck and and held fine. Just have a rear only though.Jay's looks the easyest to do, and you could fancy with a recessed knob. I like designs that work with cold fat fingers. The other issue is doing a cowboy over the hatch and your wet suit or dry suit.
