: Duh! sussed it - I'm measuring to the wrong side of the forms!. It's 11.5 not
: 12 inches between the forms right!
I haven't yet built any boats according to Nick's methods. I have his book on order though. All of my boats so far have been built using Ted Moores' methods. If your widest mold is say #8 then the center of the mold thickness becomes your set-up reference point. Mold #7 will be set-up 12" from mold #8 but you measure the 12" from the center of mold #8 to the bow facing surface of mold #7. Mold #6 is positioned with the bow facing surface 12" from the bow facing surface of mold #7. And so on. Heading aft of mold #8 you set-up the molds the same way but using the stern facing surface. I hope this helps.
