Yo Steve

Great to hear you are making progress. The seat is looking pretty good. I found Nicks little hanging backrest (in his book) to be quite good. It is a natty piece of engineering and it is cool just to look at in real life.

I definately need back support and I definately need to move around. I lean forward for paddling sometimes and at the other extreme I slump back as I glide along. Nicks little hanging backrest allows alot of movement, yet still gives me enough support.

Something like that might be better than the static-against-the-coaming option you have - Just a suggestion that works for me.

Good luck and happy paddling. That kayak sure looks good for more than 40 minutes each time.

Cheers Pete
