stop sanding now!!(too bad you started).

if the rest of the hull is semi ok, just take a razor saw or small saw and saw betw the panels again and true up and then restitch, go as far as you need to to realign. i've done this a fair number of times. not a big deal,just takes a day or 2 to get back to where you were.
