I also built the Panache! I'm not a very seasoned paddler yet, but I really do like this boat. i have also not had it on open water, but I have had it numerous times on a HIGH VOLUME lake and it handles very well. If you've ever paddles on a recreational lake on a mid summer Saturday afternoon, you know it can be hairy! Paddling along the shore rounding a shallow point gives you large wakes from all directions. THis boat handled them especially well (considering I am not an expert).

I weight in at 195-205 (depending on my diet). I don't believe this boat is as fast a some state, but I beleive that's partly due to my experience & my weight! I really enjoy paddling it & I agere, it's a very beautiful boat! Here's a pic I use for wallpaper on PC.
