In Response To: Strip: glueing keel strips (Jewile)

I've used wedges when filling in a football and taped the strips together when starting with strips down the centre of the boat. I've also used spring clamps simply clamped onto the form and pressing against the strip and used spring clamps to hold pieces of sloted plywood which the strip fits into. Other things have been bungie cords right over the boat with wedges to apply extra pressure to hold the strip down and bungie cords wrapped around the strips and bungie cords hooked on a strip to apply pressure in just one direction. I'm sure next time I'll try something different because the problem will be just slightly different. The best thing you can try is going through the archives and looking at the pictures of various postings of people forcing strips into positions they really do not want to be in. Overall, I've found the slotted plywood and the bungie cords handle the majority of the situations.
good luck

: how do i apply pressure to the keel strips when i am glueing them together?
: clamps....do not apply pressure in the direction i need, such as a upward,
: pyramid-shaped construction, down and inward at the same time. i need to
: pinch the two strips together until they are dried. i have read all
: messages and books w/ no mention thus far.
