That's kind of a hard question to answer. As you know ... it has more to do with than beam. In my own case, my main boats are a Mariner Max and an Outer Island. The Mariner is 1-1/2 inches wider, has twice the freeboard of my OI and has tons of secondary. Yet ... my Outer Island which is lower volume, skinnier, has less freeboard and secondary ... feels rock solid ... in a Zen sense it just feels more one with the water and that inspires confidence. Overall, in my case I think it's the lower volume and confidence.
