Hi Mike & Rikki,

The great dropped cockpit idea is Rob Macks of Laughing Loon, from his instruction book on building the Shooting Star. Also in the picture is another great idea of his for making slick easy fillets inside the lip on his coaming. His coming lip opening is 3/4" high and he uses a 3/4" tubing to compress inside the lip for a tight fit to squeeze the epoxy goop into a radius. I am going to try to use this same tecknic to put a radius between the dropped deck and the vertical walnut strips I dropped the deck with. He paste waxes the tubing. I am experimenting with the piece in the picture to get a feel for it.
