Thanks for all the great tips a couple days ago. The tunnel going thru the bow and stern is formed (but not installed), and the result is very acceptable.

I intended to do the "solution" that I discussed on the prior post, but to my anguish, I couldn't find my 3/4" spade bit. But while looking for it, I realized that I could take my 3/4" hole saw and cut out a plug with it. I then aligned that plug with the end of the 3/4" dowel, and used the plugs pilot hole to mark the center of the dowel. It was VERY quick and easy. I'll bet the whole process didn't take but a couple minutes.

To my embarrassement, I found my 3/4" spade bit about 15 minutes later.... chucked up in my other drill. Now, why hadn't I put it away the last time I used it?!?!?
