I need to give it a good road test to evaluate the crosswind issue, but I believe it will be all right. The load is distributed over the full length of the trailer and the steel of the tongue adds some extra weight low. The weight of the boats on the upper rack is much lower than the lower rack. Also, by running the tongue all the way to the rear (the stock tongue starts at the mid-point), I should cut down on the amount of sway and torsion effects. We shall see.
