: Yes, and who exactly wouldn't? You said these folks were paddlers first,
: builders second right?
The two guys building the Najad´s was experienced paddlers. They had got the hard training form "tupperware"-kayaks and was very easy to persuade building woodenkayaks.

: If 55cm = 21.7 inches, then 21.7 inches = 21 7/10. That to me is a fraction.

And I dont like to count with fractions when you can use decimals.

: Besides, if
: we all went totally metric, you and I wouldn't have anything to joke about
: now, would we?

In fact this inching and footing has remains here to. Just try to learn an old carpenter to deal with millimeters! It´s easier to learn an old dog how to sit.

: This one, I don't think you really understand...there's a song... it goes
: like,"Coming into Los Angeleeese...bringin' in a couple of
: keys....don't touch my bags if you please, Mr. customs man....Man!

?

: And how much for .5 kilo again?

1 lbs

: And that's about the size of my little finger.

: 3 ft. is a yard, ten yards equals a first down.

Now I´m lost. Let there be only inches and foots.

: (3meter is 10foot) or 1foot is 30cm.

Or the lenght of my foot from bigtoe to heel.

: And a cubit is the length of my forearm plus my fist.

Cubit! Never heard of that sort.

: A pound equals 16 oz, 28 grams to an oz...

16 times 28 makes 448grams and thats half a kilo if you count between your fingers (between the index and the thumb, thats an expression used here)

: Well, that explains it!

: Post a pic of that! A key ring? Sounds cool.

Coming soon!

Today I have a vacation day, monday too, must take it out before dec15 otherwise they pay me money. I rather have a day or two off so I can go down and glass the hull. If I do that now I can lay the second layer tomorrow morning, let it cure until monday and turn her over and begin with the deck.
If I concentrate maybe I can finish her within december and present her to my wife as a newyear-gift.
So I cant sit here with the computer any longer now, must get started...

Have a nice weekend!

Richard
