In Response To: Has anyone tried wooden beads for attaching cord (Scott Baxter)

Hi Scott,
I tried the wooden bead thing - just like you said and my problem was my lack of the right tools. The wooden "balls" were made out of Beech and kept cracking / breaking during the cutting and filing. I said +?@!! and opted for the Nylon cleats. If you use 6mm deck rigging the wood cleats are going to be rather large. I've now converted to the flush cleats that you can make yourself, and may even be alittle stronger.
