: Hi Guys...
: In finishing, I have never read about any one rolling
: on spar varnish, & tipping off with a brush. ( like epoxy.)
: Is there a problem with that?
: Anyone ever tried it?
: Anyone want to tell me there "disaster story" when they tried it?

Oh yeah, I use the shortest nap conventional size roller you can buy, usually 1/4" and cut them to 3" lengths, razor knife cuts them if it's sharp. Can save a little money if you can find 9" or 12" roller covers. Don't even think about reusing rollers or brushes, toss them with each coat.

As mentioned, you can only do a fairly small area at a time, perhaps 2 feet centerline to gunnel of the bottom or 2' of the deck. I've never had a problem keeping a wet edge.

I've done this professionally on very big boats too btw, last one was a 28' mahogany runabout.
