: I'm taking photos, so far. What do people think about the various photo
: websites for storing a build blog? Based on what I've read so far,
: Webshots sounds just right.
Congrats on getting started. From here the work goes a lot faster.
I've been disenchanted with the free sites for storing phots. They tend to go out of business, or grow and make changes in their URLS. That can cause broken links with postings you might wish to preserve.
A few years agoa I bought a website from a website provider (Ipowerweb at www.ipower.com) The fee was reasonable, and it gave me MY site (www.buildakayak.com). Now I have control over the URLs where I place my illustrations and other items I wish to share over the internet. Most of that stuff ends up on this board, but at some time I'll repurpose it.
It is possible that the internet service provider who supplies your e-mail address can also supply you with a personal web space. if so the cost may be free, or ver low in cost. Contact them and ask how you would upload your images to a personal space.
YOu don;t need to create an entire webpage. Simply getting the photos to some URL which is constantly connected to the web and not just sitting on your computer's hard drive is all that is necessary. Later on you can create a webpage, blog or photogallery and pull those pictures into it by identifying them by their URLs.
Good luck and have fun With the building
