: Just had a thought, another duh moment since I was just here, anyone have a
: source for 8 oz. nylon for covering a SOF other than George Dyson? No
: problem with him (that I know of)cept he's 2500 miles away.

I used nylon from Corey Freedman at Skinboat School In Anacortes, Washington. He has some SUPER tight-weave 8-oz fabric. It is kind of tough to stretch, but it didn't pull open any holes when I stitched it. Also doesn't shrink much, so be sure you stretch it really tight before you start sewing.
Customer service there is sketchy- don't order from them if you're in a hurry. My order took 4 weeks, but I've heard of people's stuff taking 8 weeks. Also, they don't answer emails, you'll have to call them.
It's really nice fabric, though...
