I was getting a start on my Yost Sea Flea (11'). This is a wood-frame non-folder. So far I have built my strongback, drawn out the stations & coaming from the offsets, and purchased wood for the stringers. I purchased the only piece of clear wood I could find at the local home depot - it's a cedar 10' 2x6 so I'll have to scarf to get full-length gunwales & stringers.

The yostwerks.com manual states that for the Sea Flea 3/4"x3/4" gunwales are sufficient. However, to work with this 2x6 with the least amount of waste my plan is to rip a 7/8" strip, then rip that 7/8" x 1 1/2" piece again in half the other direction to end up with pieces of wood that are 7/8" x ~11/16". I'll use my scarf-cutting jig on the table saw (built to cut the scarfs for a friend's canoe gunwales), it's first test.
