I was certain I had gotten down past the
: scrapes but low and behold there are still some blems that are quite
: visible under the glass.

: My question here is how do you know when you have completely eliminated a
: sanding mark. I looked close after using the orbital and couldn’t see any
: marks but apparently they were hiding. Is there a secret method that makes

Rough sand then WET down the wood with water and a sponge to raise the grain and the cut marks.

Sand with 120 and wet down the wood. Sand with 220 and wet the wood.

Any sanding marks will show up.

Look closely over the wood with STRONG lights to reveal sanding cut marks.

I have a sanding block with 120 and one with 220. If I find marks I sand them out with 120 then smooth out with 220.
