I wiped w/
: acetone before glassing, but maybe I didn't wipe enough?

My guess would be contamination from the Acetone.

All the information I have read from the epoxy manufacturers says to use
NOTHING but water. No soaps, no solvents, just water, and a scrubbing pad.

This great because you don't have to expose yourself to these hazardous solvents and you don't have to pollute to get ride of them.

Coating the bare wood with resin before applying glass has no delam problems
if you read and follow the epoxy manufacturer's instructions. I use System Three epoxy which allows me to wait up to 72 hours and still apply a new coat without sanding. I don't wait that long. Epoxy cures for weeks. In the time given by the epoxy maker, the new coat will cross link to the previous one.

Don't rely on someone's feeling that it precoating the bare wood won't work. Read the information provided with the epoxy you buy or call their technical help line.

Remove the delaminated glass, feather the edges of the old glass and apply a patch which overlaps the old glass by 3 inches.

Just do it! You can waste a lot of time and angst over thinking about it, when just doing it is fast. Been there done that!

All the best,
Rob
