The 13 oz. polyester that Dyson sells, coated with Zar oil-based varnish to seal it, then over-coated with Gaco UA-7000 two part coating makes an incredibly durable skin. This is the method that Bill Low developed for the SOFs he sold commercially. At his urging, I abused one of his boats over rocks and oyster shells and they didn't even leave a mark.
