I normally clean it up with a sharpened paint scraper(edges rounded of course to avoid gouging). The sanding will not work really well with green epoxy and if it does, the dust is quite toxic until the epoxy fully cures. Don't wotty about leaving white streaks as they will disappear under the new epoxy and glass.
