Thats sort of where I am leaning. I can find clear cypress but not really long lengths. So there is not much way around scarfs. Well butt joints but they don't set will with a wanna be furniture maker. :)

I did make two or three jigs for cutting scarfs. I made one for the table saw but it was dangerous. Reworked it to use on the bandsaw but the blade would walk and didn't make a good straight cut.

Finally made one for the Radial Arm and it works well but you can only cut the end of the board. So you have to trim the wood to rough length first.

I need to build another jig for the table saw and make sure that the scrap fall off and it not caught behind the blade like the first one. That was dumb!
