: I am compiling my materials list for a Yost-style SOF. The ply bulkheads I
: plan to coat with standard West System epoxy (105 resin, 206 hardener). I
: ran across their new-ish product, G/Flex 655 thickened epoxy adhesive. It
: sounds like it might be better for the frame-stringer joints and wondered
: if anyone had any experience with it, positive or negative.

Well, West Systems tech support called me back pretty quickly in response to an email inquiry about G/flex. It sounds like it will be no particular benefit to use it for the frame/stringer connections. However, during our conversation, it occured to me that because it is capable of 30% elongation and is a brushable 2-part formulation, it might be a candidate for coating boat skins. I read here not long ago that some have used the regular epoxy to coat skin boats with acceptable results.

I am waiting for a sample packet, and plan to do a comparison between it, an off-the-shelf 1-part marine polyurethane and Corey's goop which is on my SC-1.
