I did end up calling MAS - their technician was even vague about it. :-) But I'm gathering that 48 hrs is probably not enough. I'll probably wait for the club paddle next Wednesday.
The MAS tech did bring up something I'd not thought of, though - to be careful of how long the boat was car-topped in the sun with the straps on, before I get it varnished... as I could end up with lines on the boat. When she said that, I recalled a sunny day with a not-quite-finished cedar storm paddle under my deck lines. After our trip, I noticed faint lines on the paddle where it had been under the rigging. Has anyone ever noticed that happening pre-varnish?
Here's poor 'Dana', rigged and ready to go, just waiting for that epoxy to cure.
