Your bow gap looks really small. It looks like it has evolved from a trimming issue. I would continue without any qualms and look at filling the gap with some dookie schmooze at some stage.

Fast making a name for myself as a casual builder of kayaks. Attached is a photo of my guillemot s&g stern. The dark bits on the chine is badly colour matched dookie schmooze hiding a bit of a missmatch gap from my lofted chines. And for some reason my stern sides were a bit shorter than my stern hull pieces. So they got dookie schmoozed too.

The kayak is still going well.
