: zar oil based exterior poly
: http://www.ugl.com/zarWoodFinishing/zarExteriorPolyurethane/zarExteriorPoly.phpIts
: not designed for SOF but its covered hundreds of yaks with very happy
: endings. Its about 25 dollars for a gallon. I recently covered two yaks
: with a gallon and still have extra. For the price, however, it makes more
: sence to buy a gallon and waste the extra. As far as one part poly, zar
: seems to be the most highly regarded. You could experiment with something
: slightly cheaper but why?
: It needs to be oil based. The water based and quick drying will not soak the
: nylon completely.
: It should be available locally. There is a dealer locator on the link posted
: above.

I have been doing some reading myself, and zar sounds good. according to the store locator the closest dealer is between 25-50 miles away, but i have alot of hardware stores around me to check. i have a menards, truvalue, ace, and hardware hank. I have figured out a way to finance my construction of this skin on frame kayak. I have a 200$ airsoft gun, and i no longer go to competitions, and it just sits in my closet until a squirell gets on the bird feeder. the gun i could get about 180$ for, and i have a bunch of other equipment for it too. and for those of you who do not know what airsoft is, it is like paintball, but with replicas of real guns that shoot 6mm plastic bb's at around 300 feet per second. they leave welts. :)
