Strip: Help with Stapleless...

Good morning all. I'm doing stapleless construction on the deck of a Guillemot. I'm using L-shaped pieces of wood screwed to the forms and then drive a wedge between the L-shaped pieces and the strip being glued to keep the strip firmly in place against both the previously laid strip and the form.

My problem is that the some of the strips are not held tightly to the previous strip *between the forms*. The separation is maybe 1/16" or so and is enough that I can clearly see through it.

Any ideas on how to hold the strip down between forms?

Thank you...
