Hi Aaron,
The frame looks good, and I am glad to hear that you fit!!
You will likely find the extra wood added to your existing plywood 'masik' beneficial. The ply does not have much 'meat' upon which to brace your thighs against, at least without causing some pain I would think! I was worried that there might not be enough room under my ply 'masik' when I built my 'Iggy', but have found it to be just fine. In fact, sitting on just a thin foam pad with my legs out nearly straight, there is almost too much. And when I press my legs up into the masik, I am really glad for the extra width I added to the single thickness of 1/2" ply that the frames are made of.
Looking forward to pictures of the completed kayak!

: I pulled the mostly complete frame off the strong back this evening and tried
: it out. Getting my knees under the "masik" is much easier than I
: anticipated, I actually have a little room to spare. At 21" wide,
: getting into it when its floating will be another story...
