Tom's Sea Flea design gets a lot of good reviews (have there ever been any bad things said about Tom's designs?) and the cross section offsets are ready to go. This is certainly the easiest way to go about it.

I did a lot more work that was really needed, modeling the frame in 3D CAD, had the cross sections CNC cut, etc. You can pull offsets from the original line drawing using free graphics software with good results. I think that method was posted here recently in a thread about the "F1" kayak.

: Check out Tom Yosts page. He might have something along that size already.
: You can always change the size of his yaks slightly. Making your own Yost
: offsets for such a small kayak is a pain, unless you undertand computer
: modeling. Aaron seems to undertand the process pretty well. I built his
: recovery and gave it away when I moved 10 states away. It definatly
: involved a lot of fudging.

The fabric came from my employer, a discontinued upholstery fabric. Its 8 oz. per sq. yard, if bought at retail it would probably be very spendy. The yarns are very thick, at least 1500 denier, but the weave is a little loose. It was already dyed, more salmon red originally than the maroon/purple color it ended up. It turned really dark when I put polyurethane on it. The fabric tightens up when wet, but goes back to floppy when dry. I can't tell if its permanently shrinking with each soaking/drying cycle, but I'll give it some time to see if things improve...

: Aaron... Sweet yak. I noticed the material, did you get it from an industrial
: supplier or local fabric store? Did you color taint the poly or is that
: the color of the fabric. Don't worry about the wrinkling... it wil go away
: or just simply not affect much other than looks.
