Well, two things. Woodenboat magazine has plans for a couple different shells as well as a couple round bottom pulling boats (slightly wider than true shells) for sale. Also, just because you want to built it strip planked doesn't in any way mean it can't be chined. You could round the chine to make it a bit prettier and add some shape to the sections that a material such as plywood wouldn't allow. This would be far easier than taking a chined hull and converting it to round bottom and wouldn't change the plan anywhere near as much. If you were careful with the changes in underwater shape it should handle very much like the orriginal.
