I searched all over tonight and can't pull up that link, perhaps it's gone.
Nick's got a stand I think in the book that'll work, designed for building, but would work for storage too.
I use use plastic saw horses, they are really pretty sturdy and cheap, and spring clamp on carpeted cradles for the boats that I build. Then I can use the saw horses for other uses too.
If someone wants the PVC tripods bad enough I think I can remember how they were built well enough to give you a start at that project.
