Hi again Brian,
I just reread your post and you seem to be wanting to put wet on wet. I wouldn't do that as you could create all sorts of problems by moving the underlying cloth once the bottom layer of epoxy begins to kick off. Either let it get to the rubbery stage where you can still make a dent with a finger nail, or do multiple layers at one.
