Thanks for the advice. Adding a layer of fiberglass over the carbon sounds like a good step and I'll employ it.

I sure am glad this forum is available. As a first time builder, all the help has been terrific. I'll post a couple of pics of my handywork once I get the carboh coaming rim built ....
