I built a Cape Ann Double in 06. I used 4 glass and 4 carbon layers. Started with glass and ended with 2 layers of carbon. Hardest thing for me was getting the carbon wetted out completely and maintaining the pattern of the weave. Tended to stretch and bunch around the curves.

Vaclav has a lot more detail on his builder's page. This area is for people who've bought his plans so I won't share the tips here. I'd suggest emailing him and see if you can get those specific tips. Comparing his public and "private" tips, I don't think my coamings would've turned out nearly as good without the extra detail.

I'd even suggest buying his building manual if necessary. Very well done. I'm building two Spring Runs now and using both building manuals.
