Common misconception here, West Marine sells West brand epoxy, it's not the same company. West brand epoxy is the industry leader, the most used epoxy. I've been using it for many years because I get consistant results. I now use their 207 special coating hardener mostly because I never get any blush, also it's somewhat UV resistant which most epoxy isn't. The downside of the 207 hardener is it's fairly pricy, but it's a 3:1 ratio mixture so you end up with more mixed epoxy than if you used one of the more common hardeners with a 5:1 mixture. The common slow hardener will work fine, just have to scrub the epoxy with soap and water prior to adding more to get rid of any blush that may be present (like a waxy or greasy film on cured epoxy).
