Actually, it has always amused me somewhat that UK paddlers seem adamant about drop skegs, Down-Unders just as fixed upon rudders, and we USA types are all over the map as usual. You'd think we Yanks would crave a little order in our lives; but heck no, bring on the anarchy. I dislike either fashion, and consider my rear end perfect as is: plain, unfettered, and unadorned. But my Plasti-Kapp once had a drop skeg, misses it terribly, and fairly cries out for restoration. And by golly, here at the Sawdust Factory we aims to please.
