: Does anyone know of a resource for converting a 2pc to a 4pc paddle for

For some circumstances it is a very good idea to have a paddle that breaks down to a smaller package. Several of my adventure race buddies have three or four piece paddles. I'm jealous every time we have to carry our paddles in our packs. I suppose having a four piece paddle is handy for a backup too since it would fit through a hatch.

The only downside is that the joints at the ends get a lot of force when paddling and they tend to loosen up pretty quickly. Even those friends with $400+ paddles have mentioned it. For that reason I wouldn't use one as my primary paddle.

You can convert your own paddle to a four piece paddle by adding a couple of additional ferrules. Those can be bought several places. I purchased a couple from CLC. Here is the link.
