Hey Bryan have you checked out
http://www.instamapper.com

i use it with my iphone to send a gps signal
to my desktop at home while paddling and others
can see exactly where i am..even how fast i am going,,though that is not always accurate.

there are cheaper ways to use it than with an iphone.

It would be an awesome way for others to see exactly where you are.
