S&G: repairing an abused strip boat

Thank you for the thoughts so far. I pulled some glass of the boat and it came off very easily.
I will try heat to protect the wood underneath. Now the big question:
How do I keep the intact glass from being damaged as I use the heat?

So far I have taken off the glass where there is an obvious problem--a blister or a actual split in the glass or some thing on that order.

I am going to do a search on posting photos so you can see how much damage I have done so far.

I feel like I have joined a club of the doomed. All I want to do now is build a stripper from plans and two of Tom Yost's boats and a day boat and an expedition boat and a real traditional SOF. And I suppose I should learn to roll. Too bad it takes a little over an hour to get to the ocean and I still have this stupid thing called a job.

Thanks folks!!!!
