Well....um....the cork is not used in place of carbon fiber. It's a different core material used with fiberglass that "is" used in place of CF. They are using epoxy instead of polyester or vinylester to get some of the strength back.

No matter what they say in that article, there are foam cores that have "memory" as they put it. Downside to cork is that it rots and any small leak in the skins and the cork will turn to dust.
