: So, I've spent nearly a week and a half trying to get the stations perfectly
: aligned on my strongback for my Cape Ann Storm. It ceased being fun a week
: ago. Is there a point when you just say, "I've gotten this as close
: to perfect as I ever will?" Cause if there is I'm there.

I thought I'd had enough after a day and a half on my first boat. Either
it is indeed close enough, or you are doing it wrong ! I started again
from scratch with a better way of making the adjustments, which only
took a few hours, but perfection eluded me. The boat doesn't know that
and the odd half millimetre is going to disappear as sanding dust on
your floor. If you can't see any unfairness from a boat length away, it
is good enough. If you are really having trouble getting just one or
two odd stations right, try adding a strip, but don't staple to the
bolshy forms. Then move the forms into line and staple the strip down.
The whole thing becomes a lot more stable and rigid after just a few
strips, so there is nothing wrong with using those strips to hold the
odd wayward form in place !
