: We are taking our Pinguino out for her maiden voyage tomorrow (weather
: permitting). She still needs to be fitted with a new seat (since we are
: not too fond of the Thermarest seat pad), sanded/varnished, and properly
: outfitted. But our goal was to "finish" b/4 my son starts school
: in Sept (8th grade) so we really want to get her in the water. We will
: carry float bags since the bulkheads have not been installed.

: That said, construction is going well. This is our first build and I have
: minimal woodworking experience. Sure, there are some blemishes – “lessons
: learned” - but we are very happy so far. I am thoroughly enjoying the time
: spent with my son on this project.
